I snapped this photo yesterday for http://www.conquestadventuregear.com/ . They offer compact designs for SUP’s and Kayaks. Recently I’ve been helping them develop a more modern, interactive marketing campaign in my spare time. They also brought me out to take some photos. And now one of them is featured on their website. My Girlfriend and I met up with some of my friends from college over New Years. It was an absolutely amazing trip, in between Bloody Marry’s and Horse shoe games I took my Canon 7D out to capture some winter shots. In Santa Barbara we don’t have seasons really, so I enjoyed winter for a few days. This shot in particular is one of my favorite; frigged, composed, and white. Enjoy!

Just finished DIT’ing a shoot using the Sony XDCam. It was my first feature I worked on and the experience was awesome. The XDCAM files aren’t the easiest files to work with but we did have an Aja external recording device, recording to Compact Flashes. A bit easier to work with but still not exactly the fastest. Great experience and the Dp taught me how to light big.

This is a music video I directed for an amazing, new, fast, up and coming band. They gave me the opportunity to Direct, and being my flagship journey I took it on full force. I had worked with the band in the past, shooting some of their concerts, editing fun promo videos and since they liked my work we established a great partnership.

A lot of good came our way when we decided to make this video, the Bassist has a friend with a RED and Steadicam package, and I knew an After Effects Guru whom I’d been working with for about a year. So it was set… Camera, VFX, Song (kinda) and me. We all knew it was going to be an amazing experience, and I’m glad to have had such a good time making this thing.

Here are a few shots I got while in Portland, Oregon this weekend. Portland is one of my favorite places to take interior shots. My lovely girlfriend pointed out to me that every restaurant, room, coffee shop, micro-brewery has an amazing open atmosphere. Generally overcast, gloomy weather doesn’t provide ideal lighting, but once inside you can find some fun shots!

This is a behind the scenes clip from a recent trip the 800 Kamerman crew took out to the Honda Center in Anaheim to capture a Professional Bull Riding event, or PBR for short. We were all over the place on this one, moving from one location to the next, always standing on our toes, ready to build the next shot. We brought the beefy yet eloquent, Arri Alexa with us because it only seemed right to have one of the nicest digital cameras next to a 2 ton, uncontrollable beast. The results were well worth it, as you will see from some snippets in this video.

The production didn’t just stick ring side, we had a full white backdrop set up with two Varicams covering interviews/profiles. And when the Alexa wasn’t near the ring we put it on one of our Steadicams to shoot some…sorry, you’re going to have to watch more PBR to see that one. Also both production trucks were on sight, providing all the aesthetic and creative tools, necessary to getting the job done correctly. And of course we had our 60D, 7D, and 5D on sight so that we could give you this video.
